Federal Troops Uncover, Dismantle ISWAP Bread Factory in Nigeria

There are two things that have kept a division of ISWAP fighters deep in the forest of Maisani, Timbuktu Triangle, Borno, going.

One, a steady supply of explosive material for cobbling up IEDs; two, a flow of wheat flour, sugar, and others for baking.

Fortunately, the Nigerian troops of Operation Lake Sanity   III fighting terrorists in the region on Sunday succeeded in destroying one–the bakery.

Hunger destroys like every other weapon, too.

So when the soldiers brought down the mud kiln the Jihadists used to produce bread, the impact on the terrorists was no less.

The bomb-makers need to eat to have the presence of mind to improvise explosive devices. Or else their morale will plummet.

Scores of them surrendered when the federal troops cut off supplies and other routes to Boko Haram in 2016.

Although, these days, ISWAP’s strike comes once a while to prove they still have the capabilities, the brutality of their attacks seems on the wane.

The destruction of the bakery that fed the  terrorists’ explosive division may reduce the ambushes and booby traps analysts say littered the Damboa roads.

What do you think?
