Misplaced priority – Nigerians react to news of Nigeria Customs Service scouting for Basketball players

Nigerians on social media are currently reacting to news of the Nigeria Customs Service announcing plans to scout for basketballers across the country.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, disclosed this while speaking at a function in Bauchi state recently.

Speaking at the function, the Customs boss said the agency will scout for basketballers so as to bring back the lost glory of basketball in the community.

‘’As part of our social corporate responsibility, we will be starting an outreach programme to discover young basketballers right from when they are in primary and secondary school, to groom them and give them a platform to express their god-given talent”

While some Nigerians have applauded this move, others argue that Customs has no business scouting for sports talent as that is the job of the Ministry of Sports.

Lovely evening Such a beautiful evening it is, The air so fresh and breezy, Such a beautiful evening it is, The air is such wheezy, Evenings are really a fun time, Like the sweet bells of the chime, Good evening!
