Billionaire Tony Elumelu’s Net Worth Reaches $2.15 Billion

Tony Elumelu, Nigerian multi-billionaire, has seen his net worth increase to $2.15 billion as of March 10, 2025.

This growth is mainly due to the success of the companies owned by Heirs Holdings, an investment group he and his family control.

This group has businesses in many sectors, including power, energy, financial services, hospitality, real estate, healthcare, and technology, operating across twenty-four countries.

Key Investments Boosting Elumelu’s WealthElumelu’s wealth boost comes from his investments in several major companies. He has significant stakes in the Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) and United Bank for Africa (UBA), both of which have performed very well.

Performance of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) Transcorp has been a star performer in Elumelu’s investment portfolio. By March 2025, the company’s share price had increased significantly, making the total market value of Transcorp N523.8 billion.

The company’s strong growth in revenue and profit, along with good dividends, have increased the value of Elumelu’s investments.

Growth of United Bank for Africa (UBA) At UBA, where Elumelu is the Chairman, his investment has also paid off. Owning 7.43% of the bank, both directly and indirectly, he has benefited from the bank’s stock price rising to N37.60 by March 2025.

UBA has reported substantial growth in its earnings and profits, reflecting positively on Elumelu’s financial status.

Energy and Real Estate Investments Heirs Holdings is also involved in the energy sector through Transcorp Power and in real estate through various properties.

Transcorp Power has seen an increase in its revenue and profits, making it a key contributor to Nigeria’s power sector. Elumelu’s real estate investments have also grown in value, adding to his overall wealth.

Philanthropy and New Ventures Elumelu is also focusing on new sectors and startup investments. His charitable activities, especially through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, show his commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship across Africa.

This aligns with his belief in Africapitalism, which views the private sector as key to driving economic and social development.
