Bayern Munich hands Harry Kane his first ever trophy

Bayern Munich have been confirmed Champions of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season which invariably ended the trophy drought of Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich had to wait for Bayer Leverkusen’s result against Freiburg after they themselves failed to get a win against RB Leipzig a day earlier. Xabi Alonso’s side had to win at Freiburg on Sunday to mathematically stay in the hunt, were held to a 2-2 draw that crowned the Bavarians this weekend after all.

This trophy is the Bavarian 12th Bundesliga title in 13 years but the very first for England’s captain, Harry Kane. He was forced to watch on against RB Leipzig after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season, moving to the touchline in expectation before Poulsen put a pause to the party in the 94th minute.

Kane will be available for the home game against Monchengladbach on Saturday, May 10, 2025 as Bayern will be celebrating with their fans at the Allianz Arena. He had in the past lost Champions League and Carabao Cup finals at club level and twice lost European finals with England.

This is also a big trophy for Vincent Kompany who was not given a chance to succeed at Bayern because of his lack of experience at the top. This is his second trophy in two years after he led Burnley to winning the Championship during the 2022/23 season.
