‘My Debenhams Cheltenham Races suit is the only outfit I need for spring/summer events’

‘My Debenhams Cheltenham Races suit is the only outfit I need for spring/summer events’

With the arrival of spring and summer, the hunt for the perfect outfit for upcoming events can be a daunting task. However, I’ve found a solution that works for every occasion – a stunning satin suit from Coast at Debenhams. After receiving a flurry of compliments on the first day of Cheltenham, I’ve decided to make this my go-to ensemble for all future events.

The Satin Double Breasted Blazer is currently on sale for £79.20 (down from £99), while the matching Satin Flare Trousers are available for £63.20 (down from £79).

The suit’s butter and lemon yellow hue is right on trend for this season. As someone who leans more towards tailored trousers than dresses or skirts, this suit was an instant hit with me when I spotted it on the Debenhams website.

What I adore about this suit is its ability to blend androgynous style with feminine elegance. The luxurious satin fabric, pastel colour, and flattering fit of the blazer all contribute to creating a stylish and feminine look, reports the Mirror.

Big, bold, oversized styles might be trending right now, but what I loved most was the well-fitted blazer that cinched in to give a flattering silhouette. Plus, the trousers had their wide-leg cut, giving the illusion of longer legs.

And let’s talk practicality – with the UK’s unpredictable weather, a suit offers that extra cosy layer a dress can’t. Not to mention, you can always throw on a chunky coat when it’s properly chilly – I went for a classic checked number (similar style here) that dipped into the ‘countrycore’ aesthetic to fit right in at Cheltenham.

At the races, I had the chance to check out Debenhams’ fabulous pop-up space. They’ve teamed up with the Jockey Club to roll out the “Debenhams Day Spa” at leading UK racing events, and Cheltenham got first dibs on this luxe treat.

So what is it exactly? A pop-up where you can touch-up your hair and makeup, play around with glam stations packed with goodies from YSL, Lancome, and Prada, and just have a little relaxation amidst all the races. The Spa isn’t just stopping at Cheltenham – it’s set to grace Newmarket, The Epsom Derby, and Sandown Park too. It’s the perfect pit stop for touching up your glam.

When wearing my suit, I was showered with compliments all day long confirming this outfit is perfect for all my other upcoming spring/sumemr events.

To complete the look, I chose a pair of silver Mary-Janes from New Look and a matching silver grab bag. However, as we transition into the warmer months, I’d suggest pairing it with some gold platform heels and a coordinating handbag for a more vintage, ’70s vibe.

One thing to bear in mind is that if you’re under 5ft 6, the trouser length might be a bit too long. But don’t worry, you can always go for a higher platform heel to add some extra height.

If you’re after a similar trendy yellow suit but without the satin finish, Nobody’s Child offers a fantastic alternative. The Butter Yellow Tailored Blazer is priced at £149, and you can get the matching Butter Yellow Tailored Trousers for £89.
