As the spring air rolls in, new styles for warmer days are popping up all over the high street – including Marks and Spencer. One of the retailer’s latest arrivals provides a premium look without costing you a fortune.
Not only does the M&S Floral Print Midi Dress come at a reasonable price of £55, but a similar style piece by celeb-loved brand Rixo, the Evie Midi Dress, costs £345. Both frocks are adorned with a rose print against black, flowy material, plus they each have the same V-neckline and flutter sleeves.
The best-selling dresses from Rixo are worn by several A-listers, including Kate Middleton – who was spotted wearing the label’s Izzy Polka Dot Dress and Hailey Bieber. However, if you are looking for a high street alternate, Marks and Spencer’s dress may be worth trying.

Part of the M&S Collection, the Floral Print Midi Dress comes in petite, regular and tall sizes. It’s cut in a regular fit, with pleat detailing on the front and short sleeves that add a touch of volume.
Marks and Spencer’s rose-print midi appears to be flying off the shelves online, with one size already sold out. One happy customer said: “Lovely summer dress fits well, good length, just what I was looking for.”

A second added: “Fab dress fits week lovely length material nice great colours wish they did it in other colours or plain.” However, there were issues for some shoppers. One said: “This dress looks lovely on but the material is very thin.
“It is also very low-cut at the front. I wore mine with a long-sleeved bright red scoop neck top and a petticoat slip underneath and it was fine.” This is something to consider if you prefer a more modest cut dress or are looking for heavy-weight fabric.
Another shopper wrote: “Lovely comfortable dress simple and easy to wear. Slightly low at front for me but perfect with slip underneath it’s a beautiful dress for that evening drink.”

Alternatively, Debenhams stocks Dorothy Perkins’ Floral Seamed Midi Dress for £22.40, reduced from £32. This option has a square neckline and a slightly slimmer silhouette, it’s also made out of stretch jersey for added comfort.
Meanwhile, Next currently has this Love & Roses Black Floral Wrap Mini Dress, £46, available in all sizes from 8-20. Shoppers have praised it for its flattering design. One said: “Love this piece. The dress really feels special to wear. It really shouts quality and luxury when you wear it. The fit and pattern are so flattering.”
