Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the release of American R&B singer Chris Brown following his recent legal troubles in the United Kingdom.
Chris Brown, 36, was arrested in the early hours of May 15, 2025, at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, shortly after arriving in the UK. His arrest was connected to a 2023 incident where he allegedly assaulted music producer Abraham Diaw with a bottle during a nightclub altercation in London. Initially denied bail, Brown was held in custody for several days before a London court granted him bail on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Not long after the news of Brown’s regained freedom surfaced online, Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Davido took to social media to express his excitement. The DMW boss shared a short but emphatic message on his Instagram stories, writing: “Breezy Out!”, a nod to his close friend’s release.
Davido and Chris Brown have built a solid friendship over the years, one that extends beyond the studio. The duo has collaborated on several successful tracks, including Blow My Mind and Sensational, with their chemistry often praised by fans on both sides of the Atlantic. Beyond music, both artists have publicly supported each other on various occasions, strengthening their bond within the entertainment industry.
Davido’s reaction serves as another testament to their enduring friendship, with fans lauding the Afrobeats star for standing by his longtime friend and collaborator during a challenging period.
