Next’s ‘flattering’ £38 summer dress skims over tummy and gets ‘lots of compliments’

A ‘lovely’ dress from Next has sent shoppers wild for its compliment-inducing fit and versatile style. The Jersey Waisted Summer Dress costs £38 and is getting snapped up fast by fashion fans.

The dress comes in three different colours, cream, classic black, or olive green and comes in regular or petite lengths across various sizes, allowing shoppers to find their perfect fit with ease.

Crafted from soft jersey and detailed with a chic square neckline and waist-enhancing touches, it’s the definition of comfort meets style. What’s more is that it has pockets as well as being machine washable, reports Devon Live.

Fashion fans have shared how much they love this easy to wear dress that they can easily dress up and down, whether sipping cocktails by the sea or lounging at a sunny park picnic.

This dress, as explained on Next’s website, is “ideal for summer, from beachside cocktails to picnics in the park, this versatile and timeless cream dress is made from a soft fabric with a flattering square neckline, detailing to the waist and side pockets. Dress up with sandals and heels or down with your favourite trainers.”

For a higher neck and racer-back style bodice, Nobody’s Child’s Red Vera Midi Dress is a great option. At £65, it comes in both black and red and features a similar swishy A-line skirt. H&M’s sleeveless flared skirt dress, £22.99, is another similar design, with a high-neck style and comes in white, yellow and black.

Although we love the Next dress’s flattering square neckline, and we’re not the only one it seems as online reviews are pretty glowing.

The dress boasts an impressive 4.5-star rating for the cream shade and five stars for the olive. One fan of the dress said: “Beautifully soft jersey fabric. Very classy length. Will buy in olive colour,” while another confirmed: “I love this dress it’s very flattering.”

Someone else added: “A really lovely dress that fits well and feels quite luxurious. I love the pockets and the colour is true to the description,” while a fourth remarked: “Really comfortable and nice material. Covered my tummy and made me feel nice. Has pockets!”

Other shoppers loved the dress so much they called for it to be made in other colours, with keen fans of the dress snapping it up in navy and cream.

Meanwhile others shared how versatile it was: “A flattering fit, high waistline, smooth feel fabric and so easy to wear in warmer nights yet also cooler evenings due to the length. Perfect paired with flats or a wedge.”

However, not all feedback was glowing. A less impressed customer critiqued: “The material was far too heavy for a summer dress.” Someone else shared how the dress may not be best suited to women with larger busts as they wrote: “This dress was very comfortable once i got it on, Anyone with a larger bust will struggle a bit. A zip fastener would be more convenient. Also the length was a bit longer than i had expected but luckily i am 5′ 8.”
