Meghan Markle has been sharing her favourite beauty products on her ShopMy page, and since then I’ve been dying to try them out. The Duchess of Sussex’s page is regularly updated with her top picks in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, and a few weeks ago she shared some of her go-to beauty items on it.
While some of the products are only available in the US, many can be found here in the UK, including popular brands like La Roche-Posay, Tatcha and Tata Harper. Some of these I’d tried before, but others were completely new to me – and after giving them a go, I think they’re set to become my new favourites…

I put some of Meghan Markle’s favourite skincare products to the test

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser Was £16.50, now £13.20 from Lookfantastic
A gentle, creamy cleanser

I kicked off my royal-approved skincare routine with this La Roche-Posay cleanser that Meghan had recommended, which is currently on sale for £13.20 for a 200ml bottle, or £18.80 for a 400ml bottle with a pump, reports the Mirror.
I’ve used it in the past, and often keep it in a ‘skincare SOS’ kit for when my skin is feeling irritated or extra dry. It’s a fantastic, simple, suits-all creamy cleanser; it won’t dramatically transform your skin, but it won’t strip it either, making it a great everyday staple.
While it doesn’t remove eye make-up for me, and in the shower I prefer something with a bit more of a foaming or gel consistency, this is a product you can’t go wrong with, and I’m over the moon to have it back in my skincare routine.
Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream £26 from Boots
This viral product is now available at Boots

This was the product I was most eager to try. I was aware that Korean brand Medicube had been causing quite a stir in the States due to its innovative textures and formulas, but until recently it was only available on Amazon. Now, however, it’s just launched at Boots, and this lightweight gel-cream texture – which is rich in hydrolysed collagen – is perhaps the standout product.
It has a consistency unlike anything I’ve ever tried before: red, bouncy and surprisingly firm, like actual edible jelly, and comes with a little scoop to spoon it out with. I usually find gel moisturisers not hydrating enough for me, disappearing too quickly into my skin, but not this one – this had a really smoothing, plumping effect, and gave a genuine ‘glass skin’ look without the greasiness that sometimes comes with very dewy creams.
I used it before bed and I honestly couldn’t believe how good my skin looked; almost like it was coated in a fine clear layer of PVA glue (in a good way!). This was a surprise hit – and next time I won’t waste these effects on bedtime!
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream £67 from Sephora
A cult classic
(Image: Laura Mulley)
Another of Meghan’s favourite moisturisers, which she’s professed her love for over the years – and one that many beauty editors (myself included) also rave about. This rich face cream is packed with Japanese purple rice, hyaluronic acid and squalane, giving another ‘glass skin’ glow but in a different way to the Medicube product; Tatcha’s version is more nourishing and balm-like, perfect for normal-to-dry skin but perhaps best avoided if you’re prone to oiliness.
Tatcha products are also beautifully packaged – The Dewy Skin Cream, for instance, comes with a cute little spatula in the lid and is presented in an origami-style box, making it a gorgeous gift option.
I was absolutely thrilled with how glowing, plump and healthy my skin looked after using this, and it stayed hydrated all day long. One thing I did notice, however, was that the Clarins tinted moisturiser and concealer I applied afterwards didn’t sit quite right on top – almost as if my skin was too dewy (it might have been wise to wait a few minutes for it to sink in slightly before applying make-up).
If you want to give it a go before committing to a full-size tub, it’s also available in a mini 10ml pot at Sephora for £24.
Tatcha The Serum Stick £49 from Sephora
A handy, travel-friendly serum-in-a-stick
(Image: Laura Mulley)
Meghan also gave a thumbs up to this second Tatcha product, a convenient serum-in-a-stick. I applied it around my eyes and mouth, where my skin tends to be a bit drier, and found it glided on smoothly – no tugging at the skin – yet it’s lighter than a balm stick. It’s a winner if you’re prone to dry skin and find that your make-up can look a bit patchy as the day goes on.
I probably wouldn’t repurchase this as my skin isn’t really dry enough to justify the cost, and my regular skincare routine provides enough hydration. However, while I’m using up this tube, I’ll be keeping it in my handbag for on-the-go face freshening.
Tata Harper Superkind Radiance Mask £57 from Space NK
Gentle yet effective
(Image: Laura Mulley)
Meghan had listed a massive Tata Harper three-piece Multi-Masking Collection but I chose the one that most appealed to me (and would give me the Duchess’s glow): the Radiance Mask. This creamy, 100% natural formula contains gentle AHAs plus prebiotics to strengthen the skin’s microbiome, and is designed to be left on for 20 minutes before rinsing off.
What I liked about it was just how gentle it was; which is clearly something of a theme amongst Meghan’s skincare routine; there are no harsh actives or potential irritants. Some exfoliating masks can give a bit of a tingle, but not this one; my skin looked slightly fresher and brighter but without any redness, and I’ll definitely continue to use this once a week or so.
RMS Beauty Living Luminizer £39 from Space NK
Gives a subtle sheen to skin
(Image: Laura Mulley)
To perfect my Meghan Markle-inspired glow, I added a touch of RMS Beauty Living Luminizer to the tops of my cheekbones. This cream highlighter is reportedly also loved by celebs like Khloé Kardashian, Miranda Kerr and Hailey Bieber. It’s another fairly natural brand (something Meghan clearly appreciates), and it adds a subtle shine to the skin.
I tested out the shade Living, a sheer pearlescent ivory, but if I were to purchase it again, I’d probably go for the shade Magic. I also noticed that it looks much better on well-moisturised skin (for instance, after using Tatcha’s The Dewy Cream) or over a hydrating foundation or tinted moisturiser; if your skin’s a bit dry, it can highlight skin texture.
If you’re looking for an alternative, I’m also a fan of Lisa Eldridge’s Elevated Glow Highlighter, £27, and Haus Labs’ new Bio Radiant Highlighter Balm, £30.
Overall, I was thrilled with how radiant and fresh these products made my skin look, found a new favourite in the Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream, and was reminded of an old one with Tatcha’s Dewy Cream Cream. Meghan clearly prioritises gentle formulas and hydration in her skincare routine, and it has inspired me to do the same.
