Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal have intensified their efforts to sign Victor Osimhen by presenting an improved offer to both the Nigerian striker and Napoli.
Al-Hilal aim to finalise Osimhen’s deal before the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup begins.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal have increased their transfer bid in a fresh attempt to secure the Super Eagles forward ahead of the Club World Cup.
“Al Hilal have now improved their proposal to Victor Osimhen and Napoli to try reach an agreement soon,” Romano posted on his X account on Friday.
“Galatasaray have been pushing in the last 24 hours, but Al Hilal keep insisting with an improved proposal of over €70m to Napoli and a higher salary to Osimhen.”
Earlier reports by BusinessDay reported that Al-Hilal had initially offered Osimhen a lucrative €30 million annual salary.
However, in a fresh twist, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that the Saudi club has now submitted a four-year deal worth €35 million per season plus bonuses, edging closer to the €40 million Osimhen is reportedly demanding.
Despite a strong push from Turkish champions Galatasaray, who remain keen on keeping Osimhen after his prolific loan spell, Al-Hilal are said to be desperate to finalise the move before Tuesday, June 10, which is the registration deadline for the Club World Cup.
The Riyadh-based club are eager to have the striker available for their opening match against Real Madrid on June 18 in Miami.
The Nigerian forward enjoyed a remarkable 2023/24 campaign on loan at Galatasaray, netting 37 goals in 41 appearances and helping the club secure the Turkish Süper Lig title. Despite his form in Istanbul, a return to Naples appears increasingly unlikely.
