Tems is set to make history on July 13, 2025, when she headlines the first-ever halftime performance at a FIFA competition. The show will take place at MetLife Stadium in New York City during the FIFA Club World Cup final.
Joining Tems on stage are Colombian reggaeton superstar J Balvin and American pop sensation Doja Cat, creating a truly global lineup for what organisers promise will be a spectacular celebration of football and music.
Global Citizen, which is producing the halftime show, has confirmed that the performance will be streamed live and free worldwide on DAZN.com, ensuring fans everywhere can tune in.
Tems said she views the performance as more than entertainment. “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment,” she explained.
“It’s an opportunity to celebrate the unity that music and sport inspire and to raise awareness and funds for children’s education through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait. See you at MetLife!”
Muyiwa Awoniyi, a member of Tems’s management team, took to X on Monday to share details of the announcement. “Pleased to confirm that @temsbaby will perform at the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday, July 13, at MetLife Stadium,” he wrote.
“A huge thank you to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans. We’re honoured to be part of this first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition.”
Global Citizen has set an ambitious target of raising over $100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports education initiatives and FIFA’s Football for Schools program across more than 200 countries. To help reach this goal, $1 from every ticket sold to FIFA Club World Cup matches in the United States will be directed to the fund.
“The FIFA Club World Cup Final will feature a live halftime show produced by Global Citizen,” reads a statement from the organisation. “Performances from artists across Africa, South America, and North America underscore our belief that music and unity can drive solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.”
With the 2025 edition poised to be the largest Club World Cup ever staged, organisers anticipate that millions of viewers worldwide will witness this groundbreaking halftime spectacle marking a new chapter in the fusion of sport, music, and social impact.
