Frankie Bridge’s ‘expensive looking’ and weather-resistant trench coat is now on sale

Although we’re only just heading into summer we’ve already been blessed with plenty of warm sunny weather, but that doesn’t mean the occasional rain shower isn’t on the horizon. To make sure you’re not caught out getting soaked, you need a jacket that’s lightweight enough for the sunshine, but will still keep you warm and dry when the weather suddenly takes a turn.

A trench coat is that natural pick for this, offering you plenty of protection whilst being breezy, comfortable and – of course – eternally chic. If you’re looking for one to add to your wardrobe, Frankie Bridge has shared her top pick – and it’s currently on sale.

Posting about the coat in her weekly Frankie’s Faves style series, Frankie shared: “No spring summer wardrobe is complete without a decent trench. The length on this makes it look really expensive!! It’s more of a beige tone in real life to how it shows online (looks more yellow).”

Frankie’s top choice is the Stone Oversized Storm Flap Detail Trench from PrettyLittleThing, which is ordinarily priced at £55. However, it’s currently on sale down to £41, saving you almost £15.

The trench coat is the perfect traditional silhouette, with a longer ankle-length hemline that, as Frankie said, makes it look more expensive. It has a tie belt around the waist that you can use to create a more defined shape or leave undone for a more laidback look.

It also features a traditional storm flap around the shoulders, which helps water run off whilst protecting the fastenings to prevent rain from seeping in. Button fastenings also give it that classic look, and it comes in a neutral beige shade that makes it easy to pair with anything in your wardrobe.

If you want something that is well and truly waterproof, Tog24’s Alva Womens Waterproof Jacket is also on sale, down from £170 to £119, and has a completely waterproof coating and taped seams that keep the rain out. It also has a detachable hood for added protection from the elements.

You can also nab the ASOS DESIGN Rubberised Rain Parka Coat for £34, down from £45, in a whole array of colours including khaki, black and burgundy. It also has a rubberised waterproof coating that stops it getting wet, and a handy oversized hood.

If you want to follow in Frankie’s fashionable footsteps, however, you can still pick up PrettyLittleThing’s Stone Oversized Storm Flap Detail Trench on sale now. It’s currently still available in all sizes from XS to XL.
