Nollywood actress Olamide Odunlade has taken to social media to express heartfelt gratitude after narrowly escaping a fiery tanker explosion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.
The accident, which occurred near Deeper Life Bible Church and directly opposite the NASFAT camp, involved a petrol tanker that lost control, overturned, and exploded shortly after. The resulting inferno sent thick smoke into the sky and caused widespread panic among road users and nearby residents.
Eyewitnesses say the explosion triggered a major traffic jam stretching as far back as Berger. Many motorists, in a desperate bid to flee the chaos, drove against traffic, worsening the gridlock.
Caught in the incident was actress Olamide Odunlade, who shared a video of her terrified escape on Instagram. In the clip, she can be seen fleeing the scene visibly shaken and emotional.
Fighting back tears, she cried out in gratitude, saying, “God, thank you. What would I have said? Everybody run!”

Her fans and colleagues quickly flooded her comments with prayers and messages of relief, praising God for her safety and calling attention to the need for stricter safety protocols on Nigerian roads.
