Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has ordered the indefinite suspension of the Emir of Daware, Alhaji Hassan Ja’afaru, following allegations of corruption and misconduct.
Ja’afaru, who previously served as the district head of Daware in Fufore Local Government Area, was found guilty after investigators uncovered evidence of corruption, poor administration, security breaches, and other violations.
According to The Punch, the government communicated the suspension through a letter dated April 25, 2025, signed by the Permanent Secretary of Chieftaincy Affairs, Adama Mamman, on Sunday.

The letter directs the suspended emir to immediately hand over all government properties in his possession to the district secretary.
“Following a series of complaints regarding maladministration, corruption, breach of security, confiscation of farmlands, and your prolonged absence from your domain, which has left traditional matters unattended, I am directed by the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, to suspend you from office indefinitely,” the letter states.
“You are, therefore, requested to hand over all government properties in your possession to the district scribe pending further actions.”
Governor Fintiri has consistently emphasised that his administration’s anti-corruption efforts will extend across all sectors without exception.
