AMVCA 10: Night of crazy, sexy, cool fashion in atmosphere of excellence

Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) never fails to hit the spot of awe, elation and bewilderment it always set out to hit.

As much as it is basically a night of recognition of excellence and talent in the African film and television space, the echoes of who wore what at what expense and to what effect seem to take the shine out of everything else.

Just as the creatives do battle on the podium, winning accolades and honours that truly last through ages, the fashion stylists and their muses turn the red carpet into a coliseum where fashion gladiators impress the hell out of one another.

MultiChoice might have spent millions of naira into pulling off the award night, the fashion gladiators who grace the event aren’t so far behind either in terms of investment in their looks just for the night, to be remembered and counted as one of the best dressed.

At least, reality TV star, Tacha gave us a clue when she told a red carpet host at the event that her gears set her back by 100 thousand dollars.

Of course, it is absolutely impossible to draw a list of 10 best dressed women at the event unless one wants to be put through a grinder. Nonetheless, the focus are on these ten women, namely: Caroline Hutchkings styled by Tiannah Empire;  Tacha by Medlin Boss;  Uche Montana styled by Veekee James; Yvonne Godswill styled by Amyaghomi; Osas Ighodaro styled by Veekee James; Nana Akua Addo  styled by Yoli Koomson; Toke Makinwa style by Veekee James; Chioma Ikokwu styled by Weizdhurm Franklyn;  Yvonne Jegede styled by Mickey Creates and Toyin Lawani by herself, Tinnah Empire.

It was a razzle-dazzle night with a cascading tapestry of colors draped in stunning and captivating glamour and glitz. Whatever must have inspired the stylists or what their scripts were, their muses came off looking delightfully crazy,  sexy and cool
