POINTS:
1. Purpose of the Temple
2. The Eyes of God
3. Name Above Other Names
1. PURPOSE OF THE TEMPLE
The church building is known to be the place of prayers, and this was made clear by Solomon in the temple dedication prayers, which seems different from the purpose of the place of worship before then. Before, the place of worship was a place of sacrifice, and he didn’t talk about that but emphasized that any prayer offered in this house or facing the side of this house may be heard from heaven. He talked about “confession of sin, not sin offerings,” he likewise mentioned kinds of “petitions” to bring to God, such as right judgment, and many more he prayed as the purpose for the temple, which means Solomon requested God to dominate the rules of the people by hearing prayers not smelling of sacrifice. But the purpose of the temple has been shifted from a place of prayer to a place of raising funds, a place of oppression and suppression, a place of perverse judgment, and a place to attack each other. Solomon knew the implication of the prayer he offered so he told the people to walk in perfect heart with God. The house of God today cannot feel the presence of God in the temple because we have bastardized the purpose of God for the temple; the scriptures say the Lord is in the temple; let all keep silent before Him. Till today, people of particular religions face the East before they pray because it is the place set aside in the temple. Solomon said if they are beaten by their enemies because of their sins when they face the side of this temple, may God hear from heaven and forgive. Jesus says we don’t need to go from one mountain to another before we worship God because those that will worship God will worship Him in the spirit, and truth, the gathering of the people of God must be checkmated so that our worship will not lose its purpose because of money.
2. THE EYES OF GOD
God told Jeremiah to separate himself from the deeds of the people so that he might not partake in their punishment, to the extent that God told him not to marry the people. He planned to sideline the evildoers that they may suffer and repent, that they may receive mercy and forgiveness for His eyes are on them day and night. Wherever we are, the eyes of the Lord are on us to bless those doing His will and to punish those doing evil. We should be conscious of the eyes of God on us so that we may not incur the wrath of God like Gahaz, who did not know that the eyes of his master were with him. Therefore, we don’t need the supervision of the leaders before doing the needful; we don’t need the presence of our spouse before keeping our marital covenant. Likewise, children don’t need the presence of their parents before behaving well because the eyes of God are with us everywhere. Remember, we are in a father and children relationship with God; His neither sleeping nor slumbering; he is closer to us than the clothes we wear; He sees you always.
3. NAME ABOVE OTHER NAMES
Jesus was given the name above other names after He had surrendered Himself as the Sacrificial Lamb. He left his glory in heaven, and He humbled Himself to come in the form of man, and He suffered and died so that He may save the sinners. God then gave Him a name that is above all other names, that is why Peter says there is no salvation from any other person, for no other name is given among men through which we can be saved. His name attracts the presence of God, and at the mention of His name, every knee must bow, and we are also given to pray in His name, as Peter said that the miracle was through the name of Jesus. There is power in His name when we mention His name; His image is already input into us. His name has been given to us for our victory, blessings, and establishment; trusting in His name draws us to solutions to our life problems. Calling His name brings down the presence of God, and wonders are wroth on His appearance.
