1. BLESSED FAMILY

The blessings of God to Obed-Edom were not to him alone but all his households were also blessed because the three months they had the Ark of Covenant with them. It means all the households of Obed-Edom acknowledge the presence of God and they honor Him not minding if someone had been killed by the same Ark. Many families today drive away the blessing of God because of fear and self-center, some husbands or wives want to serve God are not supported by the family members. If the wife of Obed-Edom was like the wife of Job she would have discouraged her husband to run away or to disregard the king’s order and they would have missed the blessing. Bringing the Ark to them was like sentencing them to an unrest situation because nobody knew the reason why Ussah was struck in death. Many ministers are facing problems from their wives and children because of the commitment of the ministers towards his ministry which may be at the detriment of their convince or well-being. Some families are divided because the husband or wife chooses to serve God like no other person has done. Though the Bible did not tell us what the Obed-Edom did to invoke the blessing of God his family certainly supported him and they were all blessed. Probably, their acceptance, belief, and support would have served as an impetus to their blessing. Therefore let’s accept the work of God and anything in the name of God, for He will not owe anyone and the blessings of God shall follow our actions. If the husband of the woman who cared for Elisha refused her, they would have remained childless and captured by famine of seven years. Some husbands or wives deprive their spouses of doing good to people especially the servants of God because of envy and jealousy, and they miss the blessing of God for their family. May the Lord give us the grace to serve God unitedly as a family so that we will receive blessings for our family in Jesus’ name.

2. FOUR JUDGEMENTAL WEAPONS OF GOD

God has many tools to bless and to punish, He sent four weapons to Israel to execute the judgment on them. These four weapons were swords, famine, beasts, and pestilence because they forsook their God and followed idols and proved stubborn to come back to God, yet they came with idols to ask from God and God mentioned Noah, Job, and Daniel that their righteousness will only save themselves alone. Without a doubt these weapons have been released to our country and the whole world, sword represents guns and war tools; pandemics, famine, and the wicked people in positions of power as the beasts are punishing our nation and it has been the extent that everyone faces his or her problems. We need to beg God to remove His heavy hand from the nations and have mercy on us His people. The rumors of war killings, insecurity, and wickedness are means to punish the nation. Therefore, let’s ask God to remove the punishment tools sent to our nation. Some allotted the problem of this nation to Festac 77 when the nation backed out from God and celebrated idols instead to celebrate God who gave us wealth. Since then, the tools mentioned in the passage previously appeared in the country, she is ruled by wicked people and the people suffer from swords, famine, pestilence, and beasts in uniform and regalia. Where is Jehu, where is Hezekiah and where is Josiah to cleanse the idols and return the nation to God. Oh Lord, have mercy and give us leaders in the nation and church to remove the plague that caused your annoyance against our nation; remember those that are serving you wholeheartedly, have mercy on our little innocent children that are suffering, Lord heal our land in Jesus name.

3. THE EVERLASTING SOLUTIONS

The Biblical history has it that the Bethesda Pool had been there for many years and only one person can receive healing at a time till another indefinite time, but Jesus came and healed a man of thirty-eight years of sickness. However, it created an argument because the miracle was done on the Sabbath day and they also added the fact that Jesus equated Himself with God. But He made them know that all solutions have been given to Him over all situations. Only those who believe in Him will have everlasting solutions, believe Him in the remaining two months of the year and you shall be full of testimonies like the man that was healed said a man told me to take up my bed, and later he said Jesus was the one that healed me. At the end of this year, you will boldly tell people that Jesus has given you an everlasting solution and we shall all testify and rejoice together in your Jesus name.
