Canadian charity asking for more used tech donations in Quebec

If you have an old laptop, this organization is asking for donations

The Electronics Recycling Association (ERA) has put out a call for people and businesses across Quebec to donate used laptops, computers, smartphones and tablets as the local waitlist for devices continues to grow.

The ERA is a Canadian non-profit that aims to reduce e-waste by refurbishing and donating old computers and tech to schools, charities and community organizations across North America. There are arms of the organization in most major Canadian cities and many in the U.S. as well.

In Quebec specifically, the ERA is looking for computers to pass on to a Montreal-based shelter which needs more machines for its workers, A low-income seniors home is looking for computers to help keep its residents entertained, and another charity is looking for laptops to gift to students who need them. You can find out more about the charities that are in need in the full press release.

If you have some old devices you’d like to donate you can visit the ERA’s website to schedule a free pickup or you can find a drop of deport near you. If you don’t live in Quebec and also have items you want to donate you can visit the website to find a spot closer to your home.
