Singer Cassie was spotted out in New York City on Wednesday, September 18, looking relaxed and cheerful as she dined al fresco at the trendy hotspot “Left Bank.”

The scene was a far cry from the current reality of her ex, Diddy, who remains incarcerated in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) after being denied bail earlier that day.

Cassie appeared in high spirits, enjoying her time with friends and showing them something on her phone during the meal. Given the timing, it’s likely that Diddy’s legal troubles may have come up in conversation. The disgraced music mogul was denied bail following allegations connected to past misconduct, including a 2016 incident involving Cassie.

In court, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson referenced hotel surveillance footage from 2016, where Diddy allegedly forced a woman into a compromising situation at one of his infamous “Freak Off” parties. Though Cassie wasn’t directly named in the footage, the prosecutor highlighted the incident to argue that Diddy cannot be trusted, claiming that his association with sex workers is only the “tip of the iceberg.”

Following the judge’s ruling, Diddy was sent back to MDC Brooklyn, where his attorney Marc Agnifilo described the conditions as “inhumane.” Meanwhile, Cassie seems to be embracing her path to justice and moving forward with her life, as Diddy’s legal battles continue to unfold.
