Darey Art Alade’s Car Catches Fire on Third Mainland Bridge

Nigerian singer Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola, experienced a frightening moment yesterday when their vehicle burst into flames on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Fortunately, their driver managed to escape without injury, and no one was harmed.

In an Instagram post, Deola shared the couple’s gratitude for everyone who assisted at the scene and for the protection they felt during the ordeal. “Yesterday around 4 pm, our car caught fire on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and burnt to the ground,” she wrote. “It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”

Darey and Deola emphasised that they were sharing their story not for sympathy but to remind others that possessions can be replaced lives cannot. “Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself,” they said in a joint statement. “We choose to remain thankful to God for protection, for perspective, and for the quiet strength to keep going.”

Offering words of encouragement, the couple urged anyone facing sudden loss or hardship to hold on to hope. “If you’re navigating a sudden loss of any kind, we hope this reminds you: we can rebuild. We can begin again and find the strength to keep going. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time.”

They closed their message with heartfelt thanks: “We give thanks in all things. THANK YOU JESUS!!! Thank you to everyone who stopped to help.”
