Echoes of Despair: A Cry from Nigeria

Echoes of Despair: A Cry from Nigeria

In the heart of Nigeria, where dreams once soared,

A shadow now lingers, a heavy, silent sword.

The naira falters, its value slips away,

Leaving the common man in disarray.

Once vibrant fields, now barren and dry,

Farmers toil hard, yet their hopes seem to die.

The cost of a meal, a mountain to climb,

Three square meals a day? A luxury, a crime.

Job seekers wander, like ghosts in the night,

With dreams turned to ashes, lost in the fight.

Opportunities scarce, like diamonds in dust,

In a land rich with promise, it’s hard to trust.

Young girls in the shadows, their futures unclear,

Desperate for bread, they face every fear.

Innocence traded for a morsel of hope,

In a world that has taught them, they must learn to cope.

As the sun sets on Lagos, the cries fill the air,

A nation in turmoil, a people in despair.

Yet through the darkness, a flicker remains,

The spirit of Nigeria, though battered, still strains.

Part 1: Echoes of Despair

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we will delve deeper into the resilience and hope that still flickers in the hearts of the Nigerian people amidst these challenges.
