• Mum had just woken me up from sleep, that fateful Saturday morning to get some water for her from the village stream for her incantation.

 yeah, my mom was a witch doctor, she was the most fearful and powerful witch in the land of ikiba her powers were mysterious and esoteric as she could kill a thousand souls with the twinkle of an eye .

i quickly pick up my water pot and ran out of the house, the last time i delayed her calling i was locked up through out the day. 

As i walk through the narrow road that lead to the village stream I saw too strange lovers close to a mango tree, they outfit were almost the same and it was hard to secernate between the two of them they look like people who were lost and could not find there way home.  

After fetching my water i quickly hurried home since our house was too far from the village stream, when informed my younger brother Emeka about the people i meant earlier he suggested we accommodate them, at first I wanted to decline for reasons best known to me but Emeka was able to persuade me with his sweet mouth.

 We both went back to the stream, to our outmost surprise the two lovers were still there playing they romantic scene, we later took them home, my mum have already left to get materials for her incantations, 

Emeka was still playing with the strange lovers, when i Left them to get somethings at mama nkechi’s store, i was still at the store when i heard someone crying only for me to turn to see Emeka, his face looks pale and his body trembling in fear i gasp in shock seeing him in such condition the only thing that could be heard from his mouth was death,

 Fear immediately grip, as i recalled how mum had killed the last visitors we brought home saying that the gods requested for their blood, i swiftly carried Emeka on my shoulder and ran home, people were staring at us but i was mindless.

 As we approach our gate I hurriedly push it upon only for me to see two dead bodies lying on the floor, I felt the urge to cry to cry looking at the dead bodies, but had to hold it as I screamed my mum’s name while looking for her every where in the house,

 I finally saw her in her room I knew she was terrified because my face was void of emotions she has never seen me in such manner before I spoke with authority and audacity as i asked her why she killed the two grasshopper’s that were having fun.
