Few years ago; my mother always beat me whenever I make mistakes.

My elder brother was free to do whatever he wants to do.

Why was my life different? was it because I was a kid?

I don’t a have say over my own life.

My parents always controls me.

They determine what ever I do.

Especially my mom.. she chooses when I sleep, play, and ones its time for me to eat she goes drag me from where I was playing to come eat.

Life was harsh for me been a kid.

My elder brother had the right to do everything, infact he is constantly in his own apartment.

My mom gave birth to me after waiting for like 23 years after the birth of my elder brother.

So my elder brother was like my uncle.

I remember when I told my mom, that I wanted to go stay with my brother, but my mom refused, saying I wanted to go disturb my brother.

oneday I decided to make a wish to grow so big like my elder brother so I can have my own say.

So that I can drink beer in the presence of my parents and they won’t even bother.

I can go out and come back when ever I want.

I slept and woke up to my wish coming to pass.

I was surprised everything changed.

My mom came into my room.

ayochidi we want to have a discussion with you.

I quickly went to the sitting room to meet my dad and mom.

Ayochidi you have grown so big and we would want you to start feeding for yourself.

You are done with your studies now, and we are proud of you that you Came out with first class.

But you have grown now and you will start hustling for yourself.

At that point in my life I was super excited and confused at the same time.

So I will be able to do whatever I want to do now? I asked my mom.

I didn’t even think twice. I went straight into my room, arranged my stuffs.

mom, dad am going now. I told my parents.

Where exactly ayo, so soon? they asked.

There was no time to think mom, and beside I have everything under control, it have been my dream to go to Lagos.

Off I went to Lagos that day.

On getting to Lagos. my phone got stolen.

I didn’t know what to do. I was definitely on my own.

I wanted to be in charge of my own life.

so it wasn’t an option to call my parents.

There was this day i was playing football and mistakenly broke someone glass.

My dad wasn’t there to help pay the bills.

Each Time I go to restaurant to eat. They ask me for money. But when I was still at home each day after school. I go to a nearby known restaurant to eat and my dad comes later to pay the bill when he was going home.

Now everything changed, I began to think within me if it wasn’t too early to grow so big.

I Began questioning myself if I could really handle it.

Now I got a lady pregnant. and it was now my responsibility to take care of her and our baby.

Ayochidi, Sandra the lady I got pregnant called out.

yah I replied.

So the prize of pampers has increased, and I also need to be going for antenatal, buy baby wears and the rest so I need roughly N200,000k for a start. she said.

I checked my account balance and saw N20k

And I woke up immediately and saw my mom beside me.
