Grammy Winner Tems Becomes Co-Owner of San Diego FC

Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, a two-time Grammy Award winner, has just become a part-owner of the new Major League Soccer team, San Diego FC. She made this investment through her company, The Leading Vibe, working with Pave Investments, a private firm from Africa.

Tems shared her excitement about her new role, mentioning how football brings people together and her eagerness to contribute to the San Diego community.

She joins a diverse group of owners including actress Issa Rae, former soccer player Juan Mata, retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, and baseball star Manny Machado.

This group is focused on supporting young players and showcasing talents from around the world, especially through their partnership with the Right to Dream Academy.

Tom Penn, the CEO of San Diego FC, is thrilled to have Tems on board, noting her global influence in music and culture. He believes her involvement will help inspire young fans and players.

San Diego FC is set to play its first MLS game against LA Galaxy on February 23, 2025, at Dignity Health Sports Park and will host its first home game on March 1, 2025, at Snapdragon Stadium against St. Louis CITY SC.

This is an exciting time for the team as they begin their journey in MLS with such influential figures in their ownership team.
