Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, a renowned Nollywood actor, has revealed that he intentionally invested in his children’s education rather than acquiring properties.
In an interview, despite becoming a polygamist, he chose not to accumulate wealth for inheritance but instead prioritized providing a strong educational foundation for his 18 children.
Veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has shared that he deliberately prioritized his children’s education and moral upbringing over accumulating wealth or properties.
In a recent interview, the seasoned actor explained that despite being a polygamist, he made a conscious decision not to focus on acquiring material possessions for inheritance. Instead, he invested in giving all 18 of his children a strong educational foundation.
“By the time I became a polygamist, I had made up my mind not to focus on leaving behind numerous properties. I only need two houses one in Lagos and one in my hometown. Whatever is left in my account should be shared. I am passionate about education,” he said.
Oga Bello revealed that while several of his children eventually joined the film industry, including his famous son Femi Adebayo, he never pushed any of them into acting. His only requirement was that they complete their education first.
“I never told any of my children to go into acting. My goal was for them to first go to school. Whatever interest they later develop is up to them,” he added.
As he prepares for retirement, the actor says he finds fulfillment not in physical assets, but in the values and achievements of his children. According to him, education remains the best legacy a parent can give.
