A Nigerian man who once enjoyed the opportunity of a fully funded scholarship to study in Norway has shared the story of his dramatic fall from grace. Now back in Nigeria, he earns a modest ₦4,000 a day working as a waste packer.

The account was made public in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @PH_Socials. In the footage, the man reflects on his past, detailing how his life took a turn for the worse.

After arriving in Norway to pursue his studies, he became entangled with a group of individuals involved in drug use and trafficking. This association eventually led him down a dark path, culminating in his own involvement in transporting drugs between Norway and Italy.

At first, some of his fellow Nigerians applauded his activities, but his actions soon caught up with him. Norwegian authorities arrested him for smuggling drugs and subsequently deported him.

Now back home, the man survives by collecting waste for residents, earning a daily wage of ₦4,000. Despite the hardships, he remains hopeful, expressing a strong desire to secure a government job and rebuild his life.

His words:

“I went to Norway through scholarship. I met some UK people smoking white crystal and marijuana. One Bayelsa man told me to start moving drugs.”

“I moved the first drop from Norway to Italy, and during the second one, the Bayelsa people in Norway were celebrating me. Not long after, I was convicted. They said Nigerians are bringing drugs into their country. I was expelled and sent back to Bayelsa.”

“Now, I throw away people’s dirty every morning. They pay me ₦4,000 daily. I’m hoping for a government job.”
