Having been swept up in the hype around Korean skincare products and their use of ingredients that promise a radiant complexion, I recently swapped out a key product in my routine for Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF50+, which is currently on sale at LookFantastic, reduced to £12.40 from £15.50 – and it has completely taken over from my daily moisturiser.
The lightweight, non-greasy formula has an SPF 50+, offering full protection against sun damage and premature ageing. The first thing I noticed is that it doesn’t feel like sunscreen at all, instead leaving the skin feeling hydrated and with a subtle healthy glow.
I found my skin felt so quenched that I didn’t need to use a separate moisturiser. It also sits really well underneath make-up which can be a challenge with sunscreens. The only downside I find, is the bottle isn’t massive so it may run out quickly, however it’s a handy size to carry with you on-the-go.

Another brilliant face SPF option is Supreme Screen SPF 50+ Hydrating SKINSCREEN by Australian brand Ultra Violette, which is currently on sale at Boots for £27.20, down from £34.
Look Fantastic has also slashed 20% off La Roche-Posay Anthelios Suncream SPF50+, which is fragrance-free and designed for sensitive skin types. Usually retailing at £20, it’s currently reduced to £16, reports the Liverpool Echo.
With a rating of 4.77 out of five stars, many users have shared their impressive results of the Beauty by Joseon formula, however, including one reviewer who stated: “This is truly the best SPF I have used. It stayed great under make-up, didn’t make me super oily. Left me looking healthy and glowy with no residue feeling.”
The Korean sunscreen contains rice water, which is renowned for helping to tackle pigmentation, brighten dull skin, and even out skin tone. Meanwhile, its probiotic properties work to soothe and calm the skin. As a result, fans love how it makes their skin look and feel.
Another thrilled customer wrote: “I love this sun cream! It’s so lightweight and skin is left looking dewy – not greasy. No white cast either so a big plus!” while another reviewer joked (we think…) about buying over 100 tubes of this sunscreen due to its excellent results.
I’ve also had the chance to try this sunscreen myself and have been impressed with how hydrated and healthy my skin looks and feels after application. With its lightweight texture, it makes a great base for make-up too.
A great option for dry skin

Although I have normal to oily skin, it’s worth noting that those with dry skin might need an extra moisturizer underneath as the formula is quite light. As one reviewer wrote: “It’s very light and watery. I need another moisturiser under it because it’s not thick enough for my dry skin.”
Those who require maximum hydration might prefer a different option, such as Ultra Violette’s hydrating SPF. However, for those seeking an effective and easy-to-wear sunscreen that won’t clog pores or irritate sensitive skin, this Korean beauty staple is one to consider adding to your daily skincare routine.
