‘I tried this new £25 hair styling tool accessory and it tamed my hair in seconds’

‘I tried this new £25 hair styling tool accessory and it tamed my hair in seconds’

Over the years I’ve tested countless hair styling tools, but the BaByliss Air Wand truly stood out when it launched last year for its power and user-friendliness. Initially, it came with volumising and straightening brush heads and also functioned as a hair dryer. Now, BaByliss has expanded its range with four new attachments for even more styling options.

Customers can now purchase a smoothing brush, a diffuser, a pik and a flyaway tamer to attach to the original wand, each priced at £25. While the diffuser and pik aren’t suitable for my hair type, I was eager to see if the smoothing brush head could transform my unruly strands into sleek styles, especially since shoppers are already dubbing it their “favourite attachment”. Here’s my experience…

Like all the other attachments, this new smoothing brush easily clicks onto the wand. You can then glide it over and through damp hair to dry and style simultaneously, reports the Mirror. The Air Wand offers three speed and three heat settings plus a cool function; I personally find styling easiest using high heat and low speed.

The brush glides effortlessly through my hair without any pulling or snagging. One of the features I appreciate most is that the bristles don’t get too hot, allowing you to use your hand to guide it through your hair or add more volume at the roots. It’s also simple to use it to change your parting or add shape around the face.

The result was a well-groomed, tamed look with a touch of natural movement, and not a flyaway in sight. What really blew me away though was the speed at which it smoothed my hair – we’re talking mere seconds, much faster than using straighteners (although the finish wasn’t as poker-straight).

Of course, to use this new attachment, you need to already own the Air Wand, which will set you back £120. If you don’t, you can purchase the full set with this new brush head for £140, saving yourself a fiver.

If you’re looking for alternatives, the ghd Glide Hot Brush, priced at £179, is a popular pick. With its smaller handle and traditional ‘brush’ shape, some might find it slightly easier to manoeuvre.

And if you’re after a budget-friendly option, the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Styler has been slashed from £49.99 to £23.55 on Amazon.
