Storytime: Very Much in Love 1

As I pushed open the door to the grocery store, I was immediately drawn to a vision of loveliness. A young girl, around my age, with a radiant smile and sparkling eyes, was browsing through the shelves. I felt a sudden jolt, my heart skipping a beat. All I could think was, “I wish I could be friends with her.”

Feeling a bit self-conscious about my casual attire, I didn’t dare stare too long. Instead, I followed her with my eyes, trying to be discreet. She seemed to sense my gaze and glanced my way, our eyes meeting for a brief moment. I quickly looked away, not wanting to appear too eager.

As she entered the fruit section, I found myself drawn to the same area. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the cash I had, hoping it would be enough for the items on my list. To my surprise, it was exactly the amount I needed. Just then, my phone beeped, and I saw a notification from my uncle, who had sent me some extra money. I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the timely boost.

The mysterious girl was now standing beside me, her basket filled with an assortment of colorful fruits. I opted for my favorite bananas, along with some cucumbers and groundnuts. As we both headed towards the checkout counter, I sensed she was amused by something, but I couldn’t quite tell what.

We reached the payment station, and I decided to use my phone to make the transaction. As I waited for the confirmation, she made her payment and turned to leave. In a split second, she accidentally bumped into me, and my phone slipped from my hand, falling to the ground. I bent down to pick it up, expecting an apology, but it didn’t come immediately.

As I reached for my phone, I felt a hand touch the spot where it had fallen. I looked up, and our eyes met once more. This time, it was different. Time seemed to slow down, and we shared a moment of pure connection. We both stood up, and she apologized profusely, her cheeks flushing. I brushed it off with a smile, and we went our separate ways, leaving the grocery store behind.

Little did I know, this chance encounter would be the start of something extraordinary…

What do you think?
