Ottawa police say a man in his 40s is facing numerous weapons charges after an illegal gun was seized from a west end home last week.

On April 13, officers responded to a disturbance at a home in the 1200 block of Dorchester Avenue in the Carlington area. The following day, officers returned with a search warrant and located an illegal firearm.

The name of the man, who was held in custody, has not been released.

The Ottawa Police Service encourages anyone with information about illegal and illegally held firearms in our community to please report them to the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222.
