Ottawa police say a man in his 40s is facing numerous weapons charges after an illegal gun was seized from a west end home last week.

On April 13, officers responded to a disturbance at a home in the 1200 block of Dorchester Avenue in the Carlington area. The following day, officers returned with a search warrant and located an illegal firearm.

The name of the man, who was held in custody, has not been released.
