Adeyemi Afolayan, popularly known as Ade Love, was a Nigerian film actor, director, and producer. He was born in 1940 in Kwara State, Nigeria. Ade Love was the founder of the Afolayan family, a prominent Nigerian film dynasty. He was the brother of actress Toyin Afolayan and the father of several notable actors, including Kunle Afolayan, Gabriel Afolayan, Moji Afolayan, and Aremu Afolayan. Ade Love began his career in the entertainment industry in 1966 when he joined Moses Olaiya’s drama troupe. In 1971, he left to establish his own drama group, which staged comedic plays. He appeared in Ola Balogun’s “Ajani Ogun” in 1976 and later produced and starred in “Ija Ominira” (1979), also directed by Balogun. Ade Love wrote, produced, and starred in his first film, “Kadara” (1980), which was shown at the ninth Tashkent Film Festival for African and Asian cinema.
