JCI Ibadan Elite partners JCI UCH, provides free medical outreach in Ibadan

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite, in partnership with JCI UCH, has successfully offered vital medical services and health education to the communities members of the Oke Aremo and Yemetu.

The one-day health outreach at the Olubadan Palace Pavilion, marked a significant effort toward advancing grassroots healthcare in Ibadan.

The event drew about 227 attendees, including 183 registered beneficiaries, with over 70% being women, most of whom are local traders from the Oke Aremo and Yemetu communities.

The free medical outreach, themed around improving community health and promoting hygiene, offered a comprehensive range of services, including malaria, HIV, and hepatitis B tests, blood sugar and pressure checks, BMI measurement, eye screening with free reading glasses, dental care, and general medical consultation.

While medications were dispensed free of charge, sponsors for the event included Academy Hospital, Ibadan, Clubkonnect Nigeria, NMDPRA Ibadan Field Office led by Niyi Olowookere, and Brown Nectar Nig. Ltd.

In addition to medical screenings, the outreach included preventive health education, safe drinking water sensitization, and hand-washing hygiene training.

Notably, 23 nursing mothers received water purification kits, while 25 individuals experienced improved vision.

The initiative not only promoted UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 6 (Good Health and Well-being; Clean Water and Sanitation) but also strengthened JCI Ibadan Elite’s grassroots visibility and strategic partnerships.

Speaking at the event, the President of JCI Ibadan Elite, JCIN, Ilerioluwa Johnson Babatunde emphasized the importance of community health initiatives and the commitment of JCI Ibadan Elite and JCI UCH to making a tangible difference in the lives of the people.

He expressed gratitude to the sponsors, Academy Hospital, Ibadan, Clubkonnect Nigeria, NMDPRA Ibadan Field Office led by Niyi Olowookere, and Brown Nectar Nig. Ltd., for their invaluable support in making the health drive a success.

The President of JCI Ibadan Elite, JCIN also highlighted the dedication of the JCI members and volunteers from both JCI Ibadan Elite and JCI UCH, and reiterated the organizations’ ongoing efforts to address the health needs of the Oke Aremo and Yemetu communities.

JC Adekunle Brown, Project Chairman, expressed gratitude to all medical partners, volunteers, sponsors, and stakeholders who made the event a success.

In his closing address, JCI Senator Sanmi Abiodun lauded the dedication of the volunteers and urged for more community-driven health initiatives.

JCI Ibadan Elite continues to serve as a beacon of youth-led impact, bringing hope, healing, and health education to local communities.
