KISHI- BRIEF HISTORY OF OYO-ILE

Oyo ile is an ancient town that was located between kishi, igbeti, igboho and part of kwara state. The town or city was bounded, enclosed and surrounded by Rock.

   There are four Road leading to the place i.e

(I) ilorin – Megida – Babaloke – Oyo-ile

(II) National park from igbeti – Game reserve – Oyo-Ile

(III) Kishi – Welewele – Oyo ile

(IV) Kaima – kani kunkun – Banni – Oyo-ile

 There are between 5 and 7 pillars in the Game reserve of the ancient town i.e Pillars 471,470, etc. These pillars serve a purpose; Reminiscence of the collapsed building, well water, resting local chairs, “Ati baba”, “igi isin” that signifies that life existed in the area before.

   There are some mysterious objects in the defund ancient town up to the last decade. For example, when paid a visit to the ancient town on Thursdays, invisible people will be drumming.

 – There is a stone in the ancient town, this stone is very difficult to lift unless the name of kishi is used and pronounced before the stone can be lifted.

 – There’s a Rock with the underground Tunnel in the ancient town, where the tunnel lead to, remains unknown.

   According to the elders, it is up to 5 or 8 Late Alaafins that were buried in the place known as “Igbo oba” near igboho.

 Are we supposed to abandon this historical place at the expense of political maneuvering? In which we believe that no fully blooded Yoruba Sons or daughters including all Royal Highness will be unhappy with the establishment and awakening of OYO-ILE whether as a state name or a Tourist attraction environment.

  It is old OYO-ILE that bred and saved present Oyo(called Agodoyo) to avoid complete extinct from fulani Jihadist. We Yoruba cherishes our heritage, culture and history. Why should we jettison our heritage?

With the annointed map of the present Oyo state placed for studies, kishi with its rich superior historical background has the closeness of about 48km to OYO-ILE.
