Lady exposes Her Grandmother who Secretly Had Two Families for Decades

A Nigerian woman has left social media users stunned after revealing a long-kept family secret about her late grandmother, who allegedly maintained two separate families in different parts of Nigeria, one in the North and another in Ibadan, without either husband ever finding out until her passing.

Taking to TikTok, the lady recounted how her grandmother, a successful businesswoman, lived a double life during the 1980s and 1990s, traveling frequently between the two regions under the guise of trade. According to her, the elderly woman gave birth to six children for each husband, making a total of 12 children, all raised under the illusion of a single, cohesive family.

“My paternal grandma is such an OG,” she said in the viral post. “There is nothing new under the sun, but how this woman pulled off having two full families without either man knowing still amazes me.”

She further explained:

“She was a traveler in the ’80s, often spending months or even years trading up North, then returning to Ibadan for long stretches. She had a full family in Ibadan, six children, including my dad, and, shockingly, another family of six in Kaduna. None of us knew until she passed away this year.”

The revelation has taken both sides of the family by surprise, with relatives still coming to terms with the double life she led. The viral TikTok post has since attracted thousands of reactions, with users expressing disbelief, admiration, and curiosity about how such a secret could be kept for decades.

Some social media users even joked that the grandmother deserved a Netflix series, while others debated whether this was a rare display of genius or deception.

@tbque01 We got to know when she passed on and we posted her obituary on Facebook, the other kids reached out to my father who is her first child and asked if my grand mum was a twin, my dad said no and that was where everything bursted. Four of the kids traveled down to Ibadan and insisted they see her body and they came with pictures and videos evidences. My grandma died at 70 but she still goes to kaduna and back every now and then. Her alias was “Iya kaduna” here and “Iya ilu oke” in kaduna. It’s such a long story that I can’t even put all the details here. But believe it or not ten is happening. Her two husbands are still alive though.
