If you’ve ever treated yourself to a trip to a spa, you’ll know that the moment you step into the treatment room you can feel the stress melting away. The dimmed lights, soothing music and calming scents all contribute to a sense of relaxation even before your treatment starts.
So you can imagine my delight when I discovered the quickest, easiest way to recreate this at home with minimal effort. The Lush Bath Bot was launched earlier this year, and within two minutes of my first use, I knew this was the key to replicating my favourite tranquil spa experience at home.

The Lush Bath Bot is straightforward – it’s essentially an electronic device that floats in your bath, emitting relaxing music and colour-changing lights. It illuminates your bath water for an immersive experience, and you can choose from Lush’s pre-set sound and light combinations, or play your own music (or even a podcast or audiobook) through it.
With a price tag of £150, it’s certainly a bit pricier than Lush’s usual bath products, but unlike the brand’s single-use bath bombs, this is something you can enjoy over and over again. However, it’s just as easy to use.

Simply place it on the charging dock to fully charge, then pair the Bluetooth with your device via the Lush app. Pop it in your bath and you’re all set
I opted to pair mine with one of my go-to Lush bath bombs (the peppermint-infused Intergalactic, if you’re curious), and the Lush app offers pre-set settings that correspond to your chosen bath bomb. The Intergalactic setting mirrors the colours of the bath bomb, accompanied by a soothing music playlist that sets the mood.
There’s a mode for every mood, too, so whether you’re in the mood for something ultra-relaxing or a more upbeat, cheerful vibe, you can select whichever setting suits you. Alternatively, simply press and hold the play button, and it’ll kickstart a light show while you jam to your own tunes through it.
I was genuinely surprised by the power of both the speaker and the lights, which together create an immersive experience that helped me completely unwind. While the Lush Bath Bot is waterproof, it’s not designed to be fully submerged, so I was slightly apprehensive about the top part where the speaker is located getting overly wet. I also noticed that it tends to shift quite dramatically with even the slightest water movement, so if you’re someone who moves around a lot, you might find it occasionally gets in the way.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality – typically, waterproof speakers aren’t very loud or super clear, but the music from the Lush Bath Bot was incredibly sharp and had a good volume range. I enjoyed playing around with the different presets on the app too, and they kept playing continuously so there’s no need to keep drying off to select a new one on your phone.
It’s not suitable for things like hot tubs or jacuzzis, though, so if you’re planning on using it in one of those, you might want to consider the Floating Waterproof Wireless Bath Speaker for £18.54 instead. If you don’t have a bath, the Bluetooth Shower Speakers, currently discounted from £32.99 to £25.99, is a fantastic alternative, reports the Mirror.
