macOS 15.4 beta 3 now available, here’s what to expect

Apple has released macOS Sequoia 15.4 beta 3 to developers, bringing the latest version of the forthcoming Mac software update ahead of its public launch. Here’s what to expect.

New macOS 15.4 beta 3 release available for developers

The latest beta software updates have so far been fairly noteworthy when it comes to new features.

macOS Sequoia 15.4, for example, so far includes additions like:

the redesigned Mail app with inbox categorization and more

new emoji for the system keyboard

Proximity Pairing support for device setups

new verification code timer in Passwords’ Menu Bar app

Sketch style in the Image Playground app

and a variety of other enhancements and changes

Today’s beta 3 release will likely include additional features and changes to expand this list.

Typically Apple’s beta software changes a fair amount between the first few beta versions, then subsequent releases focus primarily on bug fixes and stability. Those bug fix updates arrive closer to public launch time.

Apple has said that iOS 18.4 will ship publicly in early April, so we’re expecting the same timing for macOS 15.4. That gives Apple about a month for additional beta testing, and plenty of time to introduce additions in today’s updates.

One thing not to expect in any of these betas: new Siri upgrades. Those were originally expected for this spring update across Apple’s AI-compatible platforms. However, Apple on Friday officially confirmed they’re being delayed until some time “in the coming year.”

We’ll keep you posted on any changes we discover in today’s macOS 15.4 beta 3 update.
