Miss Universe 2024 first runner-up and Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshia, was pictured with her father, Chief Okey Onwe Adetshina, a Cape Town based businessman.
Dr Ike Chioke, a financial advisor and Managing Director at Afrinvest West Africa Ltd, shared the photos in a congratulatory message to the beauty queen on Monday, November 18, 2024.
According to him, he hosted father and daughter in his house in Enugu several weeks before she set off for Mexico. “Congratulations to our own Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina who represented Nigeria and finished as the 1st Runner-up at the just concluded Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico,” he wrote.
“Everyone knows Chidinma as a Nigerian beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Nigeria 2024. She was also crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania as the highest ranked African Contestant of 2024.
Her accomplishment marks the continent’s highest placement in Miss Universe history. “What is lesser known about Chidinma is that she is from Amuri in Nkanu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
I had the pleasure of hosting her, her dad Okey Onwe Adetshina, and my own brother Michael Enebechi in my house in Enugu several weeks ago before she set off for Mexico.
“Congratulations Chidinma. Knowing what you have been through to get to this point, I couldn’t be more proud of the grace, beauty, intelligence, grit, and fighting spirit in you.
I am so proud of you. We are all over the moon.
