MLB star Hunter Greene vomits again in glove on mound during Reds game

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene has added an unusual twist to his pre-pitch routine — vomiting on the mound. 

The 25-year-old All-Star was caught on live television once again losing his lunch during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, August 13.

In the 5th inning, as Greene prepared to face the next batter, he turned his back to the mound, covered his face with his glove, and vomited through the webbing. The incident, captured on the broadcast, led to a brief pause as umpires checked on Greene’s condition.

Despite the unsettling moment, Greene went on to pitch 7 strong innings, allowing just one run on four hits and striking out eight batters. His performance brought his season ERA down to an impressive 2.83.

Reds’ manager David Bell addressed the incident in the post-game press conference, noting that Greene was feeling better after the episode. “I think a lot of us feel like throwing up during the game sometimes, and it doesn’t come out,” Bell said with a touch of humor. “Maybe he just feels better after that.”

This isn’t the first time Greene has vomited on the mound. A similar incident occurred two months ago during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he also threw up mid-game.

Despite the unusual ritual, Greene continues to deliver strong performances on the mound, proving that not even a bout of nausea can shake his focus.
