Moussa Appointed as New COO of MTN Nigeria

MTN Group has made some important changes to its leadership team. Starting August 19, 2024, Ayham Moussa will be the new Chief Operations Officer (COO) of MTN Nigeria.

He takes over from Mr. Hassan Jabber, who has left the company. At the same time, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Technical Officer, Mohammed Rufai, has been named the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Congo-Brazzaville.

About the New Leaders

Ayham Moussa has worked in various roles within MTN, including as CEO in MTN Congo-Brazzaville. He is known for his strong leadership in improving technology and operations in the areas he has managed.

Mohammed Rufai has been with MTN for over two decades. He has held key positions, including Chief Technical Officer in MTN Ghana. Rufai is respected for his work in information and communications technology and his focus on customer satisfaction.

Djibril Ouattara, the CEO of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, has chosen to retire early. He has been praised for his leadership and contributions to the company in Côte d’Ivoire.

Ralph Mupita, President and CEO of MTN Group, thanked Djibril and Hassan for their service. He congratulated Ayham Moussa and Mohammed Rufai on their new positions and expressed confidence in their abilities to lead.
