NECO Sets 2025 National Common Entrance Exam for June 14

The 2025 National Common Entrance Examination for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS1) in Nigeria’s federal government unity colleges is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) made this announcement over the weekend, confirming that all eligible primary six pupils aged 10 to 13 who completed the 2024/2025 academic session will sit the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination at designated centres nationwide.

NECO has instructed parents and guardians to ensure their wards arrive at their allocated examination centres at least 30 minutes before the start time, equipped with a valid ID and approved writing materials.

The 2025 National Common Entrance Examination will consist of five core papers: Mathematics, English Language, Quantitative and Verbal Aptitude, General Science, and Social Studies, each designed to assess the academic readiness and critical-thinking skills required for success in federal unity colleges.

To maintain integrity and fairness, NECO will deploy trained invigilators, enforce strict anti-malpractice measures, and implement health protocols, including sanitisation and spaced seating. Only candidates who fully comply with all instructions will have their results considered for admission to JSS1.

As the countdown to June 14 begins, students are urged to review the examination guidelines carefully, confirm their centre allocations, and get plenty of rest ahead of the exam.
