When Jay-Z contracted Dr Dre to do a Superbowl performance in 2022, it was certain that the revered hip hop producer was going to enlist his proteges to perform with him. Let’s face it, Dr Dre is more of a producer than a rapper.

Jay-Z had no problem with Dr Dre enlisting his mentees to perform with him on the grand stage except 50 Cent. Jigga made it explicitly clear that he didn’t want 50 cent on the superbowl.

When Eminem heard that 50 cent was going to be excluded from the list of performers, he recused himself from the performance. That became a problem because Dr Dre’s success story can’t be complete without Eminem in it. Eminem is Dr Dre’s most successful artiste.

There was an impasse and the only way to resolve it was for Eminem to give one of his alloted slot to 50 cent. Eminem gladly obliged.

While Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Dr Dre and Snoop performed two songs, Eminem and 50 cent performed a song each because the white rapper gave his one slot to 50 cent so that he could be on the superbowl stage.

50 cent can take a bullet for Eminem and vice versa. They have been friends since Eminem co-signed 50 cent to his Shady Record label.

Men need to be loyal to each other if brotherhood must be sustained. The problem with brotherhood is betrayal, greed and entitlement mindset. One renders help to a brother today, he becomes entitled to your goodwill. Let me not start with betrayal, it is very common among friends.

Let’s do better. Let’s emulate the relationship and loyalty between Eminem and 50 cent.
