Nigerian singer Orezi mourns the loss of his father

Nigerian singer and songwriter Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of his father, Esegine Samson, who passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The Delta State-born artiste, who gained national recognition with his 2013 hit single Rihanna, took to social media to announce the sad news. Alongside a photo of his late father, Orezi expressed deep sorrow and disbelief over the sudden loss, describing it as a pain unlike anything he has ever experienced.

In his emotional tribute, the Shoki crooner referred to his father as his “guardian angel, cheerleader, and mentor,” admitting he felt lost and devastated.

“This feels like a dream, so unreal. Somebody pinch me. Daddy, please wake up! I’ve cried and cried, yet these tears won’t stop,” he wrote. “Till we meet again to part no more, Esegine Samson. I love you forever, daddy. God is the greatest.”

Orezi also called on his fans, friends, and well-wishers to keep him and his family in their prayers during this difficult time.

The music star’s post has since drawn a wave of condolences and support from colleagues, fans, and followers, offering comfort as he navigates this personal tragedy.
