The Ottawa police’s internet child exploitation unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Prince of Wales Drive on April 17 as part of an ongoing investigation into the online distribution of child sexual abuse material.

The investigation was initiated after police received information that an unknown person had been sharing illicit content across multiple online platforms, say police.

The man faces charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. He remains in custody.
