Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has initiated a national prayer initiative to restore and expand Nigeria’s economy amidst ongoing economic challenges.
Adeboye announced the church’s July 2025 thanksgiving service will focus on “Divine Intervention” and prayers for economic recovery, according to Pastor Dele Balogun.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has unveiled a national prayer initiative aimed at reviving Nigeria’s struggling economy through spiritual intervention.
Announced during a press briefing in Lagos on Friday, Pastor Adeboye represented by his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun revealed that the RCCG’s upcoming July 2025 thanksgiving service will focus on the theme “Divine Intervention.” The event will be held at the church’s national headquarters in Oyingbo, Lagos, and will center on prayers for economic restoration and growth.
“Our nation, Nigeria, like many others around the world, is going through difficult times. But the good news is that these challenges can be overcome through faith, as long as we do not entertain doubt,” Pastor Adeboye stated.
He emphasized the importance of speaking positively, encouraging citizens to shift away from negativity and embrace faith-driven thinking as a path to national progress.
“As citizens and stakeholders, we must let go of negative confessions and embrace faith and positive thinking to drive real progress. Nigeria needs transformation, and we must collectively tap into divine opportunities,” he added.
Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, also shared that a dedicated prayer team has been assembled to intercede for Nigeria throughout the remainder of the year. The team will be praying over critical national concerns, including environmental issues, climate, and factors affecting national peace and development.
“We already have a team committed to praying for the nation covering issues like the environment, weather, and other factors that influence national stability. Prayer doesn’t end after an event; we keep pushing spiritually,” Macaulay said.
This initiative comes at a crucial time, as Nigerians continue to grapple with the effects of inflation, the removal of fuel subsidies in May 2023, and other economic pressures. Although the government reports signs of gradual recovery, daily hardships persist for many citizens.
