Real Madrid will be heading to London without six important players for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Arsenal on Tuesday night. This loss of key players is a big setback for their chances in the competition.
The players who will miss the game include midfielders Aurelien Tchouaméni and Dani Ceballos, defenders Éder Militao, Dani Carvajal, and Ferland Mendy, along with goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Tchouaméni is out because he got a yellow card in the last game against Manchester City, while Ceballos and Mendy are still recovering from injuries they got before Real Madrid’s last game against Valencia. Goalkeeper Lunin hasn’t fully recovered yet, so Thibaut Courtois will probably play instead.
Carvajal and Militao are also not ready to play, which makes it even harder for coach Carlo Ancelotti to set up his defense.
On the bright side, UEFA has cleared Antonio Rudiger, Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, and Dani Ceballos of any penalties after looking into how they celebrated their last win. This means these key players will be available for the big game against Arsenal.
Even with many main players missing, Real Madrid will take on an Arsenal team that is confident and eager to make it to the Champions League semi-finals.
