 *TOPIC: THE GOD OF ABUNDANT PROVISION*

 _”And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.” Genesis 22:14._

 *MESSAGE*

What an incredibly intense encounter with God you would have when you depend on God for your needs. All you need to do is to be obedient and steadfast. Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son, Issac, as a burnt offering. Nothing was more precious to Abraham than his son. Abraham had so much faith in God and was obedient to the point of preparing to sacrifice Isaac when God, at the last moment, provided the lamb needed for the sacrifice.

As Christians, we are called upon to sacrifice *SELF* at the foot of the cross. We do this by trusting in God’s provision for our salvation. We renounce, reject, and repent from trusting in our self- justification, works, behaviour, or anything else for our salvation. Instead, through faith, we accept the gift of Jesus’s sacrifice of his own life on our behalf.

Daily, we are called upon to put to death the misdeeds of the body and rely on the Holy Spirit to help us say “no” to the lures of the world that would keep us from presenting ourselves as instruments of righteousness toward God. If we consent to obeying God in His expectations of us, God will provide the substitute of his life of empowerment, blessing, and fulfilment far beyond anything we could ask, think, or imagine.

 *ACTION POINT*

 God gives us Himself in exchange for our selfish desires. The more we crucify the *FLESH* , the more He provides and meets our needs. What part of *SELF* are you yet to crucify?

 *SCRIPTURES*

Galatians 2:20;

2nd Corinthians 5:17;

Philippians 4:19.

 *PRAYER POINTS*

1. Father, thank You for always providing for me.

2. Lord, give me the grace to continually hold on to Your Word trusting in Your provision in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, put lack and insufficiency to shame in my life in the name of Jesus.

 *THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR*

 1st Samuel 3,

 Isaiah 46,

 2nd Corinthians 6:11-7:1-16.
