Rodrygo reportedly makes final decision on his future at Real Madrid

Recent reports have indicated that Rodrygo has made a final decision regarding his future at Real Madrid ahead of a new season.

Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid appears uncertain, with reports suggesting that only the direct intervention of the club’s next manager could keep him in the Spanish capital.

The Brazilian forward has faced a challenging season, particularly after Kylian Mbappé’s arrival on a free transfer, which pushed him down the pecking order. The 24-year-old has often found himself filling various roles across the frontline, expressing frustration earlier in the season: “Often, I’m just filling spaces. Is someone missing there? Put Rodrygo in. Is someone missing on the right? Rodrygo. Is someone missing as No.9? Rodrygo. That’s it.”

Speculation has grown regarding interest from multiple Premier League clubs, and according to MARCA, Rodrygo is now considering a summer exit. The Spanish outlet reports that it would take a direct request from Madrid’s next head coach to convince him to stay at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Carlo Ancelotti has long been an admirer of Rodrygo, and despite his fluctuating role, the forward has never publicly criticised the Italian manager. However, Ancelotti is widely expected to leave his position soon, with Bayer Leverkusen boss and former Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso emerging as the leading candidate to replace him.

Unless Alonso or another incoming manager sees Rodrygo as a key part of the squad, the club’s hierarchy may opt to sell him. A transfer would likely command a significant fee, helping Madrid.
