Rwanda Learning Industrialization, Others  from Ogun

Kigali’s Ambassador to Nigeria Christophe Bazivamo has got a thing for Ogun following his participation at a recent fair in the state. An MOU he can’t wait to sign will ultimately cement the relationship between the southwestern state and east-central African nation.

“What I’ve seen in Ogun when it comes to industries is that they’re producing locally,” Bazivamo said while visiting Gov Dapo Abiodun.

“… and I believe some people can come from Rwanda, learn from here and take the lesson back and replicate it.”

Besides industrialization, Ogun’s education development also caught the ambassador’s fancy.

He confirmed the Rwandan Private Sector Federation  is ready to go into partnership with the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture. The partners will be trading together, exchanging ideas, and working on building sustainable partnerships.

According to him, Rwanda and Nigeria are already in a pact: the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation. “But we are waiting for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for even planning and perfection before implementation,” he said.

Ogun has been attracting partnerships from countries lately.

Weeks ago,  Germany’s  Consul General Weert Borner visited Abiodun, and expressed Germany’s readiness to partner with the state in sustainable agriculture and energy transition.

“Better production, better methods of agriculture, plus making agriculture more sustainable and environment friendly and of course supporting Ogun state in food security for all of Nigeria,” the ambassador said.

“The second area is the energy transition to improve the build up of renewable energy and the grid development in Nigeria.”
