The event officially kicks off today, March 25, and we’re taking notes on all of the markdowns on high-tech gadgets, kitchen appliances, and one of our very favorite things to shop for: sneakers.
As self-confessed shoe fanatics (we do have Sneaker Awards every year, after all), we’ve scoped out all of the discounted Asics, Brooks, Rykas, and more. Whether you’re in the market for a new pair of running shoes now that the snow has melted, or you need a pair of white sneaks that can take you from the gym to brunch, there’s something on this list for you.
Make some room in your closet—we’re going shopping.
Asics dealsExperts and SELF editors agree: Asics makes some of the best running shoes in the game. “Asics are known for their reliability and durability,” Ashley Mateo, a UESCA- and RRCA-certified run coach based in Denver, previously told SELF. They’re highly cushioned to absorb shock, durable enough to last for many miles, and extra stable (even for overpronators).
If you want to see what all the hype is about, snag a pair of Asics Gel-Nimbus 26 while they’re $50 off right now. They’re our top pick for runners with plantar fasciitis—“[They’re] so plush and cushy, your foot just feels like it’s being hugged through every part of the gait cycle,” Mateo says.
Brooks dealsBrooks is another brand that’s revered for its ultra-comfortable running shoes. One style you should check out? The 2024 Sneaker Award–winning Glycerin 21: It packs a whole lot of padding but won’t feel clunky on your feet.
“These sneakers are very cushioned and have a nice rocker feel that guides me through my stride,” one SELF tester said. “I will definitely keep these in the rotation for easy runs and recovery runs.”
We also love the Adrenaline GTS 23 as a walking or running shoe, especially if you have flat feet or plantar fasciitis. SELF’s fitness director says they’re “a legit savior” because they help correct overpronation (and prevent injuries). “I love its light, moderate cushioning that’s comfy without being too much,” she says.
Adidas dealsEveryone is bopping around in Adidas Sambas lately, but let’s not forget that the brand makes some sweet athletic shoes too—like the Supernova Rise Sneaker, which is designed for easy, everyday runs.
SELF’s fitness director took them for a spin on 4-to-10-mile runs back when they first came out: “My first run in the sneakers was on a lot of uneven (and muddy, thanks to the rain a couple days before) grass, and I was really expecting to wake up with lower-leg soreness the next day,” she wrote in her review. “But I didn’t feel anything, which was a welcome surprise, and I credit the extra support for that.”
Her verdict? They’re a great all-around trainer to log your miles in.

Ryka dealsAmong Ryka’s on-sale offerings is a pair of sneakers that made one SELF editor feel really seen. She wanted a walking shoe—not a shoe designed for marathoners. That’s when she found the 2024 Sneaker Award–winning Ryka Devotion X Max.
“In my experience, this shoe is easy to wear for pretty much everything,” she said in her review. “I reach for mine when I’m taking the trash out, conquering my weekend errands, and walking my dog. They even make the four flights of stairs up to my apartment slightly more bearable after a long day of being on my feet—no small feat (heh).”

New Balance dealsPlanning to do some off-road exploring? New Balance’s Fresh Foam X Hierro V8 sneakers are designed for trail runs, so you can easily trek over rocks, mud, sticks, and anything else that nature throws at you.
Of course, you can also slip them on for strolls, like one Amazon shopper often does: “I wear the shoes for walking three-to-four miles daily. I feel like I could walk all day in them and usually do leave them on after my morning walk,” they wrote in a review. “It’s like walking on a cloud, perfectly balanced.”

Skechers dealsThere’s no doubt that Skechers are comfy, and they tend to be on the budget-friendly side—a major plus.
If you’re looking for a solid walking shoe, we can’t recommend the 2023 Sneaker Award–winning Max Cushioning Elite 2.0s enough. “I had started to wear special insoles in all my shoes to help with my arthritis, but because of how cushioned these shoes are, the insoles aren’t necessary,” they said. “I don’t know if I will ever be able to find a better shoe for me.”

Merrell dealsMerrell makes some of the best hiking shoes we’ve ever sunk our feet into, and we’re pumped to see a few pairs on sale right now. The limited edition Moab Speed 2 X Sweaty Betty pair won a 2024 Sneaker Award because they have plenty of traction, to make navigating tricky terrain a little easier.
“They are so comfortable and breathable in all environments,” our tester says. “My feet felt cushioned and supported, but the shoes were still lightweight and easy to slip on. I didn’t think about them much at all, actually! And I didn’t get any blisters, pain, or discomfort.”
We’re also huge fans of the Bravada 2 sneaker, which won a 2022 Sneaker Award for its impressively breathable and waterproof design. Plus, they’re super lightweight.

Under Armour dealsTrust us: Under Armour’s HOVR Phantom 3 is an almost perfect running sneaker. Our testers wore them while logging miles on grass, dirt trails, and sidewalks—and they held up through it all. One even sported them during a hike on a Greek island and while cross-training in the gym.
“I can’t say enough about how good these shoes feel. I have shin splints and I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of sneakers I can run in without pain. These are the ones!” one SELF tester says. “They have plenty of cushion, the arch is supportive, the heel is locked in place, and the shoe is really light and flexible. No pain at all!”
