SINGER, DAVIDO RAISE EYEBROW OVER HIS CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO TRIUMPH ON HIS RE-ELECTION

Davido, the popular Afrobeats singer, took to social media to congratulate Donald Trump on his confirmed victory in the 2024 US presidential election 

Trump, the Republican candidate, secured 292 electoral votes, surpassing the required 270, while Democrat Kamala Harris garnered 224 votes. 

Davido’s celebration of Trump’s win was met with criticism, especially since the singer participated in the US election despite being born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Lagos. Many felt he should have prioritized voting in Nigeria’s 2023 General election instead. 

In his congratulatory message, Davido praised Kamala Harris, calling her a “solid woman” for her efforts in the election. 

His post read: “Congratulations 47th POTUS @realDonaldTrump ~ but you !! @KamalaHarris SHOULD BE PROUD!! YOU DID THAT ! A SOLID WOMAN ”
